UNIV2260: Supplemental Instruction for Calculus II


Course Description 

Co-enroll for MATH2260

This 1-credit hour course is a co-enrollment course for MATH2260: Calculus II for Science and Engineering, where students will develop skills to be successful active learners in Calculus II for Science and Engineering. Students will learn to engage peers and instructors; embrace collaborative learning and study groups; reflect on their progress and strategies; and adapt their learning based on self-reflection and performance results.

Course Learning Objectives 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 

  • Apply various integration techniques  
  • Recognize & evaluate improper integrals  
  • Apply the definite integral to problems of area, volume, arclength, surface area, & work  
  • Solve separable differential equations  
  • Understand the concept of convergence & apply tests for convergence of sequences & series  
  • Determine power series & Taylor series for common functions  
  • Apply calculus to functions in parametric form & to functions in polar coordinates
