Mary Virginia Terry Scholars

ABOUT THE MARY VIRGINIA TERRY SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Mary Virginia Terry Scholarship Program welcomed its inaugural cohort of 24 students in the fall of 2021. The Mary Virginia Terry Scholars Program provides a robust collegiate experience for scholars with experiential learning grants to support learning outside the classroom, and a unique cohort-based approach to student success from start to finish. This scholars program is a need-based scholarship program for outstanding UGA students with a preference for a major in Terry College. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years and comes with a variety of resources to support student success, including Experiential Learning fund support. Each year, we welcome six new Scholars to the program. The Division of Academic Enhancement and the Terry College of Business support the scholars in this program.

SELECTION PROCESS
All students who submit their financial aid application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA via UGA Office of Student Financial Aid), are automatically reviewed for eligibility for the Terry Scholars Program. The Office of Student Financial Aid will email students who are eligible to become a Terry Scholar and may request additional documents to verify their aid eligibility.

SUPPORT ON THE PATH TO SUCCESS
The Mary Virginia Terry Scholarship Program goes well beyond financial aid by surrounding students with a wealth of resources in partnership with other campus units. The Division of Academic Enhancement provides resources such as course tutoring, academic coaching, innovative UNIV courses designed to assist Scholars with the transition from high school into higher education, success workshops, and Experiential Learning support to help them make the most of their time at UGA.
