Important Dates
Sessions
The IEP offers 6 sessions each year beginning in January (Spring I), March (Spring II), May (Summer), July (July Program), August (Fall I), and October (Fall II). In spring, summer, and fall, our sessions are 7.5 weeks long. In July, students can take a more specialized 4-week program (see Courses & Levels).
The online course for international visiting scholars is not tied to a session and can begin at any time.
IMPORTANT: In summer 2023, we are not able to offer a summer session.

IMPORTANT:We strongly recommend that students applying from outside of the United States apply 2 months before their program start date so that they have enough time to obtain their visa. However, even if you apply by the deadline, you may not be able to start your program on time if you encounter issues with obtaining your visa.
If you apply past the deadline, please keep in mind that you may not receive your visa in time to start your program in the session for which you applied.
If you encounter issues in your program/visa application process, you can always defer your program start to a later date. If you must defer, please contact us at iep@uga.edu.
Current UGA students, legal residents, and citizens can apply to and join the program at any time.
