Academic Coaching

Virtual, face-to-face Academic Coaching appointments are available on Sage and will be conducted via your UGA Zoom account. After making an appointment, students should await further instructions (via email) from their Academic Coach on how to access the Zoom meeting. Academic Success at Georgia

Academic Success at Georgia aims to support students at any time with online strategies, self-assessments, articles, and apps - all designed to help students be successful at UGA. Resources are organized in six different categories - Time Management, Test Preparation, Study Strategies, Note-taking Skills, Reading Comprehension, and Writing Skills. An eLC Experience | Designed by the DAE

This non-credit eLC Experience is designed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the University of Georgia's active planning to equip you with the resources and strategies needed for success in virtual, hybrid, and in-person courses. The course, based on our UNIV 1205E (Learning Online: Strategies, Skills, and Success) class, draws on online learning and student development research to give you the strategies you need to be successful in this new setting. When you're ready to access, log-on to eLC where this experience has already been added to your course list.

Presentation Collaboratory

Students interested in receiving help with class presentations or public speaking opportunities can make virtual, face-to-face appointments to meet with our Communications Consultant, Aarum Youn-Heil. Online appointments will be made on Sage and will be conducted via your UGA Zoom account. Click here to access more general information on the Presentation Collaboratory.

Technology Support

The University doesn’t want technology to be a barrier to your academic progress. The University System of Georgia (USG) recently added the free “eduroam” service for all 26 USG institutions, allowing users to connect to campus WiFi through their account no matter which USG institution they may be visiting. Many internet providers are providing low cost or free internet to students and families including Charter Spectrum and Comcast. With physical return to campus, the technology (hardware and hotspot) loan program of Spring-Summer 2020 will be suspended. Students can check out computing hardware (not hotspots) for short-term loan through https://mlc.uga.edu/technology/lending.

Tutoring

Virtual, face-to-face peer tutoring appointments and study pods is available via our brand new app, Penji. Directions for downloading Penji and creating an account can be found here. If you do not see appointment availability for the course you need, please email tutor@uga.edu so that we can work to accomodate your request. Undergraduate Teaching Aides

In response to COVID-19 and return to campus, the Office of Instruction has funded several Undergraduate Teaching Aides (UTAs) to support faculty and students in the teaching and learning missions of the University. The UTA initiative is a joint effort of the Division of Academic Enhancement (DAE) and academic departments in the Colleges and Schools. UTAs have the opportunity to receive ongoing training on peer education and support from the DAE. Please note that UTAs must be nominated by a faculty member from a department who has received funding for UTAs.
