The Division of Academic Enhancement offers free tutoring services through the Academic Resource Center (ARC).
At various ARC locations, UGA students can meet with peers who have successfully completed the course being tutored to discuss class content, ask questions, and share study tips and resources.
All tutors, as well as the tutoring program as a whole, are accredited through the College Reading and Learning Association which recognizes effective approaches to student learning.
The ARC provides tutoring in a variety of formats and services are free for all currently enrolled UGA students.
ARC offices and the majority of tutoring services are located in Milledge Hall, but there are multiple opportunities to be tutored in other locations on campus including the Miller Learning Center, the Boyd Science Library, residence halls, Science Learning Center, and online.
For more information about the program or to make an appointment, call 706.542.7053 or email email@example.com.
Be aware that all tutoring services operate within Academic Honesty guidelines. For clarification regarding authorized assistance, contact the course instructor.
UGA students can make up to two small group tutoring appointments per subject every week. Most appointments are offered in Milledge Hall, but popular courses like Chemistry and Math are also offered in the Miller Learning Center and Science Learning Center. Students must make an appointment to attend.
Math and Chemistry drop-in centers are open regular hours every day. Students do not have to have an appointment to attend. Just stop by during open hours and meet with our team of tutors to get clarification on concepts, review homework and course notes, or prepare for exams.
Receive tutoring for Math Modeling (MATH 1101), Pre-Calculus (MATH 1113), Calculus (MATH 2250), and Statistics (STAT 2000) without leaving home. Offered every evening, Sunday through Thursday.
Regular test reviews for MATH 1101, STAT 2000, BUSN 4000, and CHEM 1211 are hosted by graduate assistants throughout the semester. Students do not have to sign up to attend and like all other ARC services, reviews are free for UGA students.
Meet with a professional writing tutor for a one-on-one session to review course assignments, applications for an intended major, scholarship applications, or even dissertations. Some appointments are also offered online.
The Miller Learning Center writing center is open Monday through Friday from 1pm – 4pm in MLC Room 302. No appointment is necessary to attend, but writing tutors meet with students on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
