The University of Georgia requires admitted first-year students to indicate their intention to enroll by paying a non-refundable $300 commitment deposit. This $300 commitment deposit will apply toward your student account balance and orientation fee.

Freshman College Summer Experience (FCSE) participants are responsible for all costs associated with participation in the program including: the FCSE program fee, summer housing, summer meal plan, and tuition and University fees for the 6 credit hours that each student enrolls in for FCSE courses.

A non-refundable, FCSE Program Fee of $477 is due by Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at 5:00pm to secure your space in the program. This fee is paid out of pocket and is not included in the Estimated Cost of Attendance below. (Please note that federal financial aid cannot be applied to this program fee cost.)

*Georgia Resident Tuition Summer 2018 Short Session II is $318 per hour. Non-resident Tuition is $938 per hour. Student fees are $870 for Summer 2018. Student fees and book allowance are no longer covered by the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the HOPE Scholarship pays $1,440 and the Zell Miller Scholarship pays $1,908 of tuition costs. (Please note that the HOPE Scholarship and Zell Miller Scholarship are only available to in-state students and the amounts are subject to adjustment at any time by the Georgia Assembly.)

**The miscellaneous expenses category includes a $156 transportation fee for Georgia residents and $250 for non-residents and $316 for miscellaneous personal expenses.

Once a student registers for classes on Friday, June 29th during UGA Orientation, the charges for tuition and fees will post to the student’s account. The payment for room, board, and University tuition and fees will be due the first day of classes on Tuesday, July 3rd. All payments will be made in Student Accounts via Athena.

Zell Miller Scholarship/HOPE Scholarship Recipients

The Zell Miller and HOPE scholarships can be applied to courses taken in the Freshman College Summer Experience. Please visit the Office of Student Financial Aid’s (OSFA) website for instructions on the Zell Miller Scholarship/HOPE Scholarship application process.

Federal Student Aid

Students who wish to apply for federal student aid such as the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Student Loans must do so by June 30, 2018. To apply for Federal Aid for the Freshman College Summer Experience, you must complete the FAFSA for the 2017-18 academic year.
